Versatile gelding looks for a golden stable 💛

Sometimes you come across a horse that you just can't let go of. That is how King Carl came into our lives.

King Carl is a 13-year-old gelding with a background in showjumping in Germany. After that, he spent over a year participating in riding school lessons at Klein Oever, until our daughter Lana saw him. She fell in love instantly.

Not because he could jump the highest fence, but because she saw what a sweet, funny, and honest horse was hidden behind that tough appearance.

With a lot of peace, trust, love, and regularity, King Carl has completely blossomed. From a skinny, somewhat insecure gelding, he has turned into a wonderfully stable horse with a relaxed character and healthy physical condition (partly thanks to Florian Horsefood 😉).

By now, we also know what truly makes him happy.

He jumps with pleasure without pressure, is well-behaved, sometimes finds the first fence a bit exciting, but likes to think along with you. Only one thing we have learned over the past year: true competitive sport does not make him happy at all. He loves cross-country, but the showjumping course for it... then he freezes....

That is why we are very deliberately looking for someone who values pleasure over performance. Someone who wants to go on lovely hacks with him, ride a practice cross-country, occasionally jump a low course, or simply enjoy working with him recreationally. He can perform good dressage movements and easily goes on the contact. .

King Carl is also:

Social and easygoing in the herd, yet playful! Therefore, please pay close attention to the combination in a herd/companion.
He is used to paddock and turnout and is always neatly maintained by the farrier and equine dentist! He is shod in front.
He is well-behaved to handle, has plenty of energy, loves attention, and is an incredibly nice, alert, and reliable horse.

We now have eight horses, and our girls are focusing entirely on competitive sport. That is precisely why we wish King Carl a place where he is allowed to be exactly who he is.

Asking price: €8,000

For us, the most important thing is that he gets a loving home where he can enjoy life recreationally. Therefore, we will not sell him to someone who has ambitions to intensely bring him back into competitive sport.

We are looking for someone who falls just as much in love with him as we did. 💛
