BROODMARE FOR SALE

After much consideration, we have decided to sell our 5-year-old mare Rosie.

First, some facts:
- PROK inspected
- D-OC predicate
- Free from stable vices
- Well-behaved on the trailer
- Well-behaved at the farrier
- Well-behaved at the vet
- Kind to other horses
- Easy to handle
- Being trained at L level
- No competition experience yet

Now for the story of why we are selling her:
We bought Rosie as a 3-year-old from the breeder. She was backed shortly after. In her second week with the breaker, she was allowed to go on her first hack around the property right away, and in her fourth week, we could take her home backed. She behaved impeccably.

She also behaves impeccably when ridden at home and at the riding school. She is very light in the mouth and easy to steer. A B or L1 test goes well enough to potentially go to a competition. She can participate in club lessons as well as being ridden individually. She has no trouble at all if other horses leave and she is left behind alone. She is definitely not hot regarding tempo. You really have to create the tempo yourself. She would also be suitable to ride in a team of four, because she matches her tempo to the horse in front of her, without becoming sticky. She is not phased by poles, white fences, or other materials such as cones or a large ball. So she could become a very versatile horse.

But… Rosie is somewhat of a drama queen who needs a rider who dares to clearly take the lead. Rosie is not impressed by out-of-the-ordinary things, but she startles easily. Specifically by everyday things. A red-and-white tape fluttering in the wind is no problem at all, but a little bird flying out of a bush is terrifying. Anything she sees in time, you can guide her past by taking the lead. The things she is not prepared for are what she startles at. She does not buck when doing this. She only turns around very quickly and tightly.

In the first year, this spooky behavior led to a few falls for her rider. This spooky behavior has since decreased significantly, but the rider remains too insecure to enjoy riding around. We have been thinking about selling for a while, but the decision was repeatedly put off.
Unfortunately, Rosie is now uneven, and because the rider remains insecure, we have decided to proceed with the sale after all. We choose not to have an examination done ourselves regarding her unevenness and are therefore selling her as a broodmare.

Rosie will only be sold if we have a good feeling about the buyer.
We are advertising her as a broodmare now, but she has not failed a vet check! We give no guarantees, but it is still a possibility that she recovers and can simply be ridden again.
It is up to the buyer to have an examination done or to give her time to recover.

Vetting is allowed, at the buyer's expense.
