Nijebert’s Felix: striking, eye-catching 6-year-old Z2+ Welsh D gelding, FEI-ready

Nijebert’s Felix is a stunning, talented 6-year-old Welsh D gelding with a striking appearance and high quality for dressage. He is Z2+ classed (achieving scores up to 68% in just 4 competitions), has progressed through all classes to the maximum and features three strong, correct paces that are already fantastic and additionally hold potential for further development: an expansive walk, expressive trot and a particularly eye-catching canter.

Felix has shown in a short time that he possesses great aptitude for higher-level dressage. He has been fully trained and competed from B up to Z2 by a youth rider (the rider was 15 years old at the start) and is now FEI-ready. Given his age, attitude and qualities, we expect there is still plenty of room for growth in him.

Character & Versatility
Felix is an exceptionally pleasant and easy pony in everyday handling. He is level-headed, well-behaved, accustomed to various situations and environments, and adapts effortlessly to circumstances. Naturally, he remains a young pony that is currently in high-level training. He has plenty of experience at competition and unfamiliar venues and is not easily flustered by this.
Washing, clipping or plaiting go effortlessly.
Felix is also used with us as a steady factor for young horses, for example when loading onto a trailer, at competitions or at the veterinary clinic. He is always calm and reliable.
Outside the dressage arena he is also versatile. He can go out on hacks either alone or in a group and is completely traffic-safe, including around heavy traffic. He enjoys jumping, although our focus has always been on dressage.

Housing, Transport & Behaviour
Felix is very flexible in his housing: he can be kept either in a group or alone. Both 24 hours outside or outside during the day and inside at night suits him fine. Standing inside alone while the rest are outside is also no problem at all. He currently shares a field with 2 other geldings here. We prefer as much turnout as possible (preferably 24 hours) and only bring him inside during bad paddock conditions.
Loading and travelling go without a hitch; he can be loaded alone by a child without any issues. Felix easily walks onto both a trailer and a lorry and remains calm during transport, whether alone or with another pony. He is also accustomed to long journeys and busy competition days.

Sport Career & Highlights
Felix has been with us since he was 3 years old. From the B class onwards, he has ridden all district championships and was selected for all regional championships. He now has various championship and reserve championship titles to his name. He has also performed very consistently at regular competitions and won many prizes.

Some highlights from his sport career:
• Winner of Z1 class Galoppade / selected for the 2026 National Championships
• Almelose Ruiterdagen 2026: Placed first for the Z dressage final and winner of the Z dressage pony final
• District champion and reserve regional champion M2
• Winner of M1 Galoppade / National Championships 2025 Hippiade 6th place M1 (out of 32 combinations)
• District and regional champion M1
• Welsh Days 2025: Won all classes in the M1
• Welsh Days 2024: Won all classes in the L1
• 2nd place DPC (Dutch Pony Championship) with great scores

The fact that he went from B to Z2 in just two years ridden by a youth rider proves his fantastic attitude and willingness to work. In our opinion, Felix is nowhere near his peak. We see every opportunity for him to have a wonderful further sports career, potentially internationally as well. He is completely ready to be started in FEI classes and has the quality to continue developing further.

The Perfect Match:
Due to our son's age and because he is outgrowing Felix, we are looking for a new suitable combination. We are looking for an ambitious competitive rider who wants to continue campaigning Felix and has the intention to progress to international sport. Given his age and level of training, we prefer him to go to a rider with some experience, who wants to grow further with him under good guidance.

Felix will continue to be fully trained with us during the sale and will keep competing at shows. We are in no rush to sell; a suitable combination and a good home come first. Felix is stabled at our home; for serious interest, multiple viewings are no problem at all. No jumping is done during introductory meetings. Outdoor arena available; indoor arena reachable within 10 minutes.

Exam:
Felix has been fully radiologically examined and approved both by the breeder and on 25-08-2026. During the most recent exam, his neck, back and legs were thoroughly examined, with exclusively score 1 on the report.
For serious interest, the exam report can of course be viewed and discussed with your own vet. Additional exams or a re-examination are no problem in consultation (buyer's costs).
